Crimped heatsinks
As an alternative to soldered fin coolers, EKL AG offers coolers with mechanically pressed fins. The combination of aluminium and copper is suitable to cool very high power densities even of small components.
The thermal “spreading effect” of the copper plate in mechanical connection with light aluminium fins results in a low thermal resistance. The use of punched aluminium fins creates a very large thermal surface fanless cooling.
Crimped coolers are also suitable for further surface treatments such as anodising or powder coating.
